Emotional Victory: A Testimony

“I began reading my Bible and the Emotional Victory book during my breaks at work”

I began reading Emotional Victory on my own, answering the questions in the back of the chapters. Later on, I heard that Deb Moulder was teaching a class over her book, and I signed up for it with a friend. I began reading my Bible and the Emotional Victory book during my breaks at work, and my coworker, Alba, immediately was interested in the idea of running her emotions through the Word of God. I purchased a copy of EV for Alba. About a month went by before I had heard or talked to her much at work, until she approached me with the most perfect God-given timing. I worked in the back and was alone at the end of the day. She came with a burden on her heart and told me that she started reading Emotional Victory, and though she had just started it, she felt like it was going to change her life! We talked some and made plans to discuss the questions in the back of the chapter over coffee. Some more time went by before this meeting took place, but by the day we met up, God had clearly been preparing her heart.

It turns out my friend Autumn was at the coffee shop that Alba and I were going to meet, her prior plans canceled, actively writing a prayer for Alba’s salvation! We prayed together in earnest as we waited for Alba to show up. It was the first question in the back of the chapter that prompted the topic of salvation, and with every word that poured out of me I was thanking God for the directness of this book. The first verses we read were from John 3:1-8 concerning Nicodemus and what it means to be born again. Alba knew that it was exactly what she needed: to be a new creature in Christ. So she prayed, right there in the coffee shop, out loud and full of sweet and sorrowful tears of true repentance, and accepted the free gift of salvation.

“It was through Emotional Victory that I got to witness people I care so deeply about have their lives redeemed"

After that, she had a zeal for Jesus no one could deny! She told anyone who would listen about her testimony. She even had multiple salvations in her family and led her boyfriend to the Lord! Nearing the end of my study with Alba, I got Emotional Victory for my mom and grandma because we had just experienced the loss of my great grandmother. We were experiencing a lot of grief and emotions, so I offered to lead them in the study as well. Even though we were states apart, it was a really sweet time together, and I started seeing so much growth. It was through this study that my mom decided to move to Kansas City to be a part of our local church and learn how to walk rightly with Him. It was through Emotional Victory that I got to witness people I care so deeply about have their lives redeemed.

So many women are seeking answers on the topics of emotions and relationships. Emotional Victory provides Biblical truth on these topics, and It shares the gospel so clearly and openly in the beginning chapters, making the Word of God and His heart for people plain. Even if a woman only reads the first chapter, they are presented with a choice. I would encourage you to read Emotional Victory, and also to invite someone to read EV with you! Emotional Victory has changed my life, and has made me more fruitful in ministry.
